Message Tracking - the greatest thing since Reload!
If Reload is the "Holy Grail of GroupWise" because of its ability to quickly restore messages and its disaster recovery functions, then Message Tracking within Redline is the next greatest thing.
When your GroupWise system is humming along, one of the most frequent requests of a GroupWise administrator was to track messages.
For instance:
"I was supposed to receive a message from Charlie Brown at XYZ.COM - what happened to it?"
"Our factory in the orient says that they did not receive our message yet - is that true?"
"Why did it take so long for the message to get from A to B?"
"Why isn't Joe getting his messages from ACME but Mary is?"
All of these questions involve tracking or tracing messages and their progress.
Up until now, tracing involved poring through GroupWise logs from the GWIA on down to the MTA, POA and the ACCT log file and sorting through all of that to find these answers. It often was as much of a burden on administrators as was message restoring.
But now, with Redline 2.5 SP2, Message Tracking has become as simple and as practical as typing in the tracking number of a parcel from the major courier companies.......

To me, this is one of the latest "magic bullets" in the reasons why Redline is indispensable.
