Vertigo from GWAVA was developed by Roel Van Bueren and Ronald De Zwart.

The product isn't technically a replacement for Console One, but right now, in its current version it is doing a lot of the things that GroupWise administrators wish Console One would do for them.

The good news is that Vertigo added a Console One Snapin a few months back and can work seamlessly with Console One.

I interviewed some Vertigo users about their decision to purchase the product. One, a GroupWise administrator of a University needed Vertigo to monitor the usage of their GroupWise system while they moved users to a second system. Once the user was moved, they still had the ability to go into their original account and make modifications to rules and proxy settings that would interfere with the project that the school was working on. I won't go into the details, what was important is that Vertigo easily allowed a single person to quickly run a report and check to ensure that rules and proxy settings were in place correctly.

The ability to view proxy settings for all users in a post office is proving to be an important ability that GroupWise administrators are using. It isn't necessarily why the purchased the product, but it is becoming something they rely on for security reasons once they own the product.

If you haven't seen Vertigo, be sure to check it out at www.gwava.com/vertigo. If you have any questions, check out Roel's blog on GWAVA Nation. Post him a question and he will most assuredly answer.
