WASP2 from GWAVA Available for Public Beta

WASP version 2 from GWAVA is now available to anyone for beta testing! WASP is GWAVA’s virus filtering software for GroupWise WebAccess.

This latest version of WASP will now run on NetWare / OES and LinuxWikipedia.">Wikipedia." class="glossary-indicator">i. It also runs on Windows in “remote mode.” To use this feature, GroupWise WebAccess must be running on a separate Windows Server (IIS or Apache). The GroupWise POA still needs to be running on NetWare or Linux.

While not widely known, the technology behind GWGuardian was not actually developed by The Messaging Architects. In fact, GWGuardian was a re-branded version of a product called modusGate which they licensed from a company called Vircom. "Andre Charland just bought an iPhone 3G, the phone from Apple (AAPL) that hit the market on July 11. But the Canadian software executive isn't giving up his BlackBerry Pearl. He says that the BlackBerry is a "workhorse" for e-mail and phone calls, while the iPhone isn't as reliable. "I’ve just had dropped calls and issues like that," says Charland. "I have the iPhone mostly for fun," like watching video or browsing the Web."

GWAVA, Novell’s largest technology partner for GroupWise, has announced an agreement with Vircom, a leader in email security solutions, to sell and support their modusGate product line. The product line was previously marketed in the GroupWise market as GWGuardian, an OEM version of modusGate, to existing GWGuardian, MXGuardian or M+Guardian customers.
